Ol’ Barn

The Ol' Barn Award honors Earl Walter (a.k.a. the Old Barnacle), a founding member of Oregon Masters Swimming and a longtime participant and contributor to Oregon swimming in many capacities. It was first awarded in 1982 to the Ol' Barn himself. This award is given annually to the individual who, in the opinion of the OMS Board of Directors, has shown outstanding leadership, dedication, and devotion throughout the year to this organization and to Masters swimming.

Connie Wilson Memorial

The Connie Wilson Trophy memorializes Connie Wilson, a longtime participant and former Chair of Oregon Masters Swimming. It was first awarded in 1986. This award is given annually to an individual who, in the opinion of the OMS Board of Directors, has made an outstanding, long-term leadership contribution to this organization and to Masters Swimming.

Female 49 and Under Swimmer of the Year

The OMS Top Male and Female of the Year Award shall be determined by the compilation of points of all USMS Top 10 placings in SCY, SCM, and LCM with ten (10) points for first place, nine (9) points for second place, eight (8) points for third place, and so on, down to tenth place. The swimmer with the most points, the male(s) and female(s) forty-nine years of age and under, the male(s) and the female(s) fifty years of age and over, shall earn the OMS Top Male(s) and Female(s) of the Year Award. A second and third place award shall be given to those swimmers using the same criteria.

POOL “ALL STAR”

An "OMS ALL STAR" award shall be presented to those individuals who have earned the OMS Top Male/Female Swimmer award five or more times. These swimmers have put OMS on the map with their continued swimming excellence in the nation. However, recognition will be yearly but the "All Star" will not be eligible for either award in the future.
